Monograms or Gobo Services |
|
We specialize in custom made monograms or gobos for events. Gobos stand for “goes between the optics”, meaning the metal or glass pattern disk goes between the lamp and lens of a stage lighting unit. The image is then projected onto a surface. Our gobos are projected through high intensity stage lights on stands, as it is usually difficult to hang from an event facility. We employ various size lens tubes to enlarge the image. Most gobos ordered are in black and white which means they project white light. Grayscale and color gobos are a bit more costly. However, we can always add a color gel at no additional fee. What is the difference between a metal gobo and glass gobo? A metal gobo is cut out from a sheet of high heat metal, like a paper doll pattern. Light is passed thru the cut out and projected onto a surface, such as wall, dance floor, ceiling etc.A glass gobo is like a face of a watch. It is enclosed on a glass disk and has a better resolution than the metal gobo. Glass gobos are a bit more expensive. Duplicate copies of custom glass or custom metal gobos are less costly than the original, because once the dye is made for the pattern it is easier to make another. We can duplicate almost any pattern sent to us. We also have custom sites for ideas on fonts and styles. Visions Lighting works with their clients to fine tune their personal images.Besides custom gobos and monograms, there are hundreds of “standard” pattern gobos, such as stars, clouds, leaves, abstract designs etc. Many of our clients like to add designs to ceilings and walls and compliment the up lighting. The standard gobo, usually metal, is less costly than the custom made patterns. We also have areas and sites to go to for ideas with hundreds of patterns to choose from. A bit more expensive than the standard metal gobos are dichromatic glass gobos, which are similar to a stained glass window effect.Whether it be custom gobos or standard gobos, our aim at Visions Lighting is to make your images very personal, reflecting your tastes and ideas.
